Compatibility
The B&D AUTO-LOCK™ GDL-200V2 is designed for genuine B&D sectional garage doors when paired with a compatible B&D SDO series garage door opener.
B&D’s current technical documentation identifies the GDL-200V2 specifically as the AUTO-LOCK™ Kit for the SDO series.
Because B&D has produced multiple generations of sectional door openers and AUTO-LOCK™ systems, compatibility should be confirmed against the exact opener model before ordering.
⚠️ Please Note
The GDL-200V2 is designed for B&D sectional overhead garage doors. B&D advises that performance cannot be guaranteed when the lock is fitted to other brands of garage door.
All existing manual locking systems must be removed or permanently disabled before AUTO-LOCK™ is installed. Operating an automatic garage door opener against an engaged manual lock can cause serious damage to the garage door and opener.
B&D also specifies that AUTO-LOCK™ should not be installed in a garage that has only one exit. If the lock is engaged and access to the garage is otherwise unavailable, there must be another means of entering the garage.
B&D strongly recommends that the garage door opener is fitted with safety beams when AUTO-LOCK™ is installed.
Installation should be completed by an appropriately experienced garage door technician and the locking mechanism should be tested to confirm that the bolt fully engages and retracts without interference.
