How It Works
The 774ANZ system consists of a transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) installed on either side of the garage opening:
- The transmitter sends an infrared beam across the doorway
- The receiver detects the beam and returns a monitored signal
- The opener continuously checks this signal
- If the beam is interrupted or a fault is detected, the door stops or reverses
- The door will not close until the system is restored
Compatibility Notes (IMPORTANT)
- Designed for Merlin / Chamberlain openers using the Protector System
- Required for myQ connectivity and remote operation
- Not compatible with standard dry-contact (NC) safety beam inputs
- Not suitable for systems requiring 2-wire pulsed beam circuits (e.g. Grifco-type systems)
