If the internet connection becomes unavailable, smartphone functionality may be temporarily unavailable while the opener can continue to be operated using its compatible conventional controls.

Smartphone control differs from conventional garage door remote operation because the door can potentially be operated while the user is away from the property.
This means the person operating the door may not have direct line-of-sight of the garage door or surrounding area.
For this reason, appropriate obstruction detection and safety equipment are particularly important.
⚠️ Safety Beams Required for Smart Control
B&D’s instructions specifically address the risks associated with operating the garage door when it is not within the user’s line-of-sight and state that safety beams must be installed in accordance with AS/NZS 60335-2-95:2012.
