The B&D SDO-7V3 Smart Garage Door Operator Bundle allows you to build a complete garage door automation package around the SDO-7V3 Smart operator, with the option to bundle the opener with compatible Safety Beams, B&D AUTO-LOCK™ and your choice of C-Rail.
Rather than purchasing each component separately, simply configure the bundle to suit your installation by selecting the required safety, security and rail options.
The SDO-7V3 Smart is designed for residential sectional garage doors and delivers a powerful 1100N peak pulling force with a maximum specified door weight of 236kg. B&D also specifies compatibility with steel or aluminium rails using either chain or belt drive configurations.

At the heart of the bundle is the B&D SDO-7V3 Smart, a powerful residential sectional garage door operator designed to combine reliable everyday operation with modern smart functionality.

B&D specifies the Smart model with smartphone control included and a 7-year / 20,000-cycle manufacturer’s warranty, subject to B&D’s applicable warranty terms and installation requirements.
👁️ Add Safety Beams
Select B&D Wired or Wireless Safety Beams to provide non-contact obstruction detection across the garage door opening.
The infrared beams are positioned on opposite sides of the door. If the beam is interrupted while the garage door is closing, the opener stops and reverses the door.
Wireless safety beams are particularly important with the SDO-7V3 because of its Smart Phone Control capability. B&D states that safety beams are compulsory with the sale of smart opener devices and are required when installing a B&D Smart opener for operation from anywhere.
🔒 Add B&D AUTO-LOCK™
For additional physical security, the bundle can be configured with B&D AUTO-LOCK™.
AUTO-LOCK™ uses a heavy-duty locking bolt that automatically engages when the garage door closes, providing an additional physical locking point rather than relying solely on the garage door opener to hold the door closed.
B&D states that when AUTO-LOCK™ is paired with its Smart Opener, it more than doubles the force required to lift the garage door at the lock point.
The system operates automatically with the garage door, so there is no separate lock that needs to be manually engaged each time you leave the property.
🛤️ Select Your C-Rail
A compatible C-Rail is required to connect the SDO-7V3 operator to the garage door.
The bundle allows the appropriate rail to be selected as part of the package, making it easier to order the complete opener system together.
B&D specifies the SDO-7V3 Smart for use with:

The appropriate rail should be selected according to the garage door height, installation requirements and preferred drive system.
🔇 Belt or Chain Drive Options
Where available, the bundle can be configured with either a belt or chain driven C-Rail.
A belt drive is an excellent choice where quieter and smoother operation is a priority, particularly for garages located beneath or adjacent to bedrooms and living areas.
A chain drive provides a robust conventional drive arrangement and is well suited to general residential garage door applications.
Both steel and aluminium rail options are supported by the SDO-7V3 platform.

The SDO-7V3 Smart is suitable for a wide range of residential sectional garage doors.
B&D specifies a maximum door area of 18m² and maximum gross door weight of 236kg, provided the garage door is correctly balanced and capable of being operated manually.

The Safety Beams provide additional protection while the garage door is moving, while AUTO-LOCK™ provides additional physical security once the door has closed.
B&D specifically recommends both Safety Beams and AUTO-LOCK™ as safety and security upgrades for its Smart sectional door opener.
🌎 Smart Phone Control
The SDO-7V3 Smart includes B&D Smart Phone Control capability, allowing compatible remote operation and monitoring through the B&D smart platform.
Smart functionality can provide convenient features such as remote garage door operation, door status information and notifications.
This is particularly useful when you need to check the garage door after leaving home or provide access without handing someone a physical remote.
⚙️ Electronic Safety Systems
In addition to optional Safety Beams, the SDO-7V3 incorporates B&D’s Automatic Reverse and Automatic Backdrive functions.
Automatic Reverse responds when the closing garage door encounters an obstruction, while Automatic Backdrive is designed to resist the door being forced upwards from the closed position.
Adding Wireless Safety Beams provides non-contact detection, allowing an obstruction to be detected before the garage door physically contacts it.
🚨 Auto-Close Capability
The SDO-7V3 supports Auto-Close functionality, allowing the garage door to automatically close after a programmed period when correctly configured.
Safety beams must be installed for Auto-Close operation. B&D’s documentation specifically identifies safety infrared beams as a requirement for this function.
Selecting Wireless Safety Beams with your bundle therefore provides the necessary additional safety equipment for installations where Auto-Close functionality is required.
💡 LED Courtesy Lighting
The SDO-7V3 includes integrated LED courtesy lighting that automatically illuminates the garage during operation.
This provides additional visibility when entering or leaving the garage at night without requiring a separate light to be manually switched on.
🔧 Ideal for New & Replacement Installations
The configurable bundle is suitable for both new garage door installations and replacement of an existing sectional garage door opener.
For a completely new installation, you can select the SDO-7V3 together with the appropriate rail, Wireless Safety Beams and AUTO-LOCK™.
For a replacement installation, simply select the components required for your particular garage door.
Existing rails should not automatically be assumed compatible with the SDO-7V3. Where required, select the appropriate B&D / ATA C-Rail as part of the bundle.
