Description
FAAC Beam Joint Kit L – 428616
The FAAC Beam Joint Kit L is the genuine coupling used to connect the modular L beam sections on the FAAC B680H Hybrid Barrier system.
The 428616 joins the 4m Initial L Beam to the selected L Beam Extension, allowing longer modular boom assemblies to be configured for B680H passage widths from 5m through to 8m. FAAC lists the 428616 specifically as the “Joint L” within the B680H modular L beam system.
FAAC Part Number: 428616
🔗 Modular L Beam Connection
The 428616 provides the mechanical connection between the two sections of a modular B680H L beam.
It is used with:
- 428048 – L Beam Initial 4m
- 428049 – L Beam Extension 2.3m
- 428050 – L Beam Extension 3.3m
- 428051 – L Beam Extension 4.3m
One Beam Joint Kit L is required to connect the initial and extension sections of a modular L beam assembly.
🚧 Designed for B680H L Beams
The 428616 is specifically designed for FAAC’s larger L beam profile used with the B680H.
FAAC specifies the L beam system for passage widths from 5m through to 8m and uses an approximately 85 × 95mm elliptical beam profile designed to provide good rigidity and performance in windy conditions.
The 428616 should not be confused with:
- 428615 – Beam Joint Kit S
The 428615 is designed for the smaller S beam system, while the 428616 is designed for the larger L beam system.
🧩 Concealed Modular Joint
Once the modular beam has been assembled, the joint is concealed within the boom.
This provides a clean finished appearance while allowing multiple beam sections to form the longer barrier boom.
FAAC specifically notes that the joint between its modular beam sections is invisible once installation is complete.
📏 Compatible Beam Combinations
The 428616 can be used to connect the 4m Initial L Beam with any of the three available L Beam Extensions:
- 4m Initial + 2.3m Extension
- 4m Initial + 3.3m Extension
- 4m Initial + 4.3m Extension
The assembled beam is configured to suit the required effective passage width.
FAAC’s own typical long-boom B680H installation uses one 428616 Joint L with the 428048 Initial Beam L 4m and 428051 Final Beam L 4.3m.
⚙️ B680H L Beam System
When configuring a B680H with a modular L beam, the main components include:
- 104680 – B680H Hybrid Barrier Operator
- 428437 – L Beam Pocket & Spring
- 428048 – L Beam Initial 4m
- Selected L Beam Extension
- 428616 – Beam Joint Kit L
The appropriate cabinet and other installation components are then selected separately.
