The ATA DAVE® Wireless-First Safety Beam Kit – Part No. 102050 is a genuine Automatic Technology infrared safety system designed to provide additional entrapment protection for the ATA DAVE® Commercial Door Operator and other compatible ATA / B&D operators.
Designed around DAVE’s wireless-first philosophy, the safety beams can communicate wirelessly with the operator using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), eliminating the need to run conventional safety beam cabling across the door opening. Each beam is powered by standard AA batteries, making installation faster, cleaner and particularly useful on commercial and industrial door installations where running conduit can be difficult or time-consuming.
🛡️ Additional Door Safety
The Wireless-First Safety Beam Kit creates an invisible infrared beam across the garage or commercial door opening.
If a person, vehicle or other obstruction interrupts the beam while the door is closing, the connected operator detects the obstruction and prevents normal closing operation.

🔵 Bluetooth Low Energy Communication

The specified maximum wireless communication range is approximately 18 metres, subject to installation conditions and potential wireless interference.
🔋 Battery-Powered Safety Beams
In wireless mode, both safety beam units are battery powered.
Each unit uses:
- 2 x AA 1.5V alkaline batteries
A total of 4 x AA batteries is supplied with the kit.
ATA specifies an estimated battery life of up to approximately 4 years under typical operating conditions, although actual battery life will depend on usage and environmental conditions.
Battery operation eliminates the need to provide a wired power supply to each safety beam.
📶 Wireless Base Station Included
The 102050 kit includes the wireless base station required to interface the safety beams with the DAVE Commercial Door Operator.
For DAVE installations, the supplied harness connects the wireless base station to one of the operator’s accessory ports.
The base station can then communicate with the transmitter and receiver wirelessly.
Status LEDs on the base station and beam units assist with confirming communication during installation and commissioning.

The Wireless-First Safety Beam Kit is particularly well suited to the ATA DAVE® Commercial Door Operator.
DAVE has been designed around a wireless-first architecture, allowing compatible accessories such as the wall console and safety beams to be installed without the extensive control cabling traditionally associated with commercial door automation.
ATA describes DAVE as supporting a wireless-first wall console and PE beams while retaining the ability to use wired accessories where required.
🔌 Wireless or Wired Operation
Although designed primarily around wireless installation, the 102050 Safety Beam Kit can also be configured for wired operation.
This provides additional flexibility where wireless communication may not be appropriate because of:

The manufacturer’s compatibility documentation also identifies the system for selected other Automatic Technology and B&D operator platforms, including ATA ATS-series and selected B&D Secure, Smart, Smart Pro and PanelMax systems.
For a DAVE installation, the supplied wireless base station and harness connect directly to the operator’s accessory interface.
⚠️ Please Note
The Wireless-First Safety Beam Kit is a safety device and must be correctly installed, aligned, commissioned and regularly tested.
When installed wirelessly, each transmitter/receiver unit requires 2 x AA alkaline batteries, with four batteries supplied in the kit.
For applications where wireless communication is unsuitable or where a wired installation is preferred, the safety beams can be wired to DAVE using the separately available Wiring Kit – Part No. 102055.
The safety beam must be positioned according to the applicable installation instructions and safety requirements. ATA’s instructions specify installation close to the door travel path and require the safety system to be tested during commissioning and regularly thereafter.
