Unlike conventional photoelectric safety beams that require wiring between the receiver and gate controller, the Photon SMART system operates completely wirelessly, with both the transmitter and receiver powered by standard AA alkaline batteries.

Compatible Controller Systems
The Photon SMART is designed exclusively for compatible Centsys SMART gate controllers.
Compatible applications include supported Centsys SMART sliding and swing gate operators equipped with the required wireless safety beam functionality.

Compatibility must be confirmed against the exact operator model, controller version and supported accessories.
Not Compatible With
The Photon SMART is not a universal photoelectric safety beam system.
It is not designed for direct connection to:
- Conventional gate controllers without Centsys SMART wireless support
- Older non-SMART Centsys controllers
- Generic wired safety beam inputs
- Third-party gate controllers without a compatible Centsys SMART interface
For these applications, a conventional wired receiver safety beam system may be required.

This product is the genuine Centsys Photon SMART Wireless Safety Beam Kit.
The kit includes one transmitter, one receiver, four AA alkaline batteries and mounting screws and plugs.
Both safety beam units are battery-powered and communicate with the compatible gate controller without control wiring.
The Photon SMART is only compatible with supported Centsys SMART controllers.
It should not be confused with the Centsys Photon II safety beams, which use a battery-powered transmitter and a wired receiver.
The maximum infrared detection distance between the transmitter and receiver is 30 metres.
The maximum wireless communication distance between the Photon SMART receiver and compatible SMART controller is 10 metres.
These are two separate operating distances and must both be considered during installation.
Only AA alkaline batteries should be used. Do not substitute rechargeable batteries.
Battery life exceeding two years is based on specified operating conditions and is not guaranteed for every installation.
The IP54 enclosure is weather-resistant but must not be submerged or installed where prolonged water accumulation can occur.
Safety beams must be correctly positioned, paired, aligned and tested during commissioning.
Photoelectric safety beams provide detection along the monitored infrared beam path and do not detect every possible obstruction or hazardous area.
Additional safety devices may be required depending on the gate installation and operating mode.
Installation and commissioning should be performed by an appropriately qualified gate automation technician in accordance with Centsys instructions and applicable Australian safety requirements.
