AAC Beam Articulation Kit – B614/B680H – 428444
The FAAC Beam Articulation Kit converts a compatible FAAC Round S barrier beam into an articulated or folding boom, allowing the beam to operate in areas with restricted overhead clearance.
As the barrier opens, the articulation mechanism allows the outer section of the boom to fold, reducing the vertical clearance required compared with a conventional rigid barrier beam.

The articulation kit is ideal where a standard barrier boom cannot rise vertically because of limited overhead clearance.

⚙️ B614 Balancing Requirements
When the articulation kit is installed on a B614, the additional weight and geometry of the articulated mechanism changes the required balancing configuration.
FAAC provides dedicated balancing ranges for a B614 fitted with the 428444 articulation kit, with either one or two 721209 balancing springs required depending on the boom geometry and articulation point.
Where two springs are required, the following components are used:
- 2 × FAAC B614 Balancing Spring – 721209
- FAAC Double Spring Fitting – 490186
The completed barrier must be correctly balanced after installation.

FAAC lists the 428444 as a compatible accessory for both the B614 and B680H automatic barrier systems.

When fitted to a FAAC B614, the articulation kit changes the required spring balancing configuration. The appropriate number of 721209 balancing springs must be selected according to the completed boom dimensions and FAAC’s balancing chart.
Correct installation dimensions are particularly important with an articulated barrier, as the position of the articulation point determines the clearance of the folded boom beneath the ceiling.
