Description
FAAC Balancing Spring – B614 – 721209
The FAAC B614 Balancing Spring is the genuine counterbalance spring designed for standard FAAC B614 automatic barrier boom configurations.
The spring counterbalances the weight of the barrier beam, reducing load on the motor and transmission while allowing smooth and controlled opening and closing.
FAAC Part Number: 721209
⚙️ B614 Counterbalance Spring
Correct balancing is essential for reliable operation of the FAAC B614.
The 721209 spring works against the weight of the barrier beam so the B614 gearmotor does not have to lift the full weight of the boom during operation.
Correct balancing helps provide:
- Smooth boom movement
- Reduced load on the gearmotor
- Controlled acceleration and deceleration
- Reduced mechanical wear
- Easier manual movement when released
- Reliable long-term barrier operation
FAAC officially specifies the 721209 as the balancing spring for the B614.
🔩 Single or Double Spring Configuration
Depending on the length of the barrier beam and the accessories fitted, the B614 may require either one or two 721209 balancing springs.
For a standard Round S beam without additional accessories, FAAC specifies:
- 1 spring: 1,900–4,400mm beam
- 2 springs: 4,410–4,900mm beam
When two springs are required, the following additional component is used:
- 490186 – B614 Double Spring Fitting
The required spring configuration changes when accessories such as beam lighting, skirts, an end foot or articulation kit are installed.
🚧 Standard B614 Spring
The 721209 is the standard B614 balancing spring and should be distinguished from:
- 721232 – B614 6m Balancing Spring
The dedicated 6m spring arrangement is used for the extended modular B614 boom configuration, while the 721209 is used for the standard B614 balancing ranges.
FAAC’s current international B614 platform supports beam configurations up to 6m, so selecting the correct spring for the actual beam configuration is important.
🔧 Accessory Configurations
The weight of accessories installed on the beam affects the required spring configuration.
FAAC provides separate balancing ranges for B614 beams fitted with:
- LED beam lighting
- Beam skirt
- Adjustable end foot
- Lighting and end foot
- Lighting and skirt
- Skirt and end foot
- Lighting, skirt and end foot
- Articulation kit
The completed boom configuration should therefore be considered when determining whether one or two 721209 springs are required.

⚠️ Please Note
This listing is for one FAAC B614 Balancing Spring – 721209.
Some B614 configurations require two 721209 springs. The number of springs required depends on the beam length and accessories installed.
The 490186 Double Spring Fitting is required when two springs are installed and is sold separately.
This spring should not be confused with the dedicated 721232 balancing spring used for the extended 6m B614 configuration.
The barrier operator, beam, securing pocket, double spring fitting and other accessories are not included.
Correct spring selection and final adjustment are essential to ensure the completed barrier boom is properly balanced.
