Description
ATA KPX-7V2 TrioCode128 Wireless Keypad
The ATA KPX-7V2 TrioCode128 Wireless Keypad provides convenient keyless access to compatible ATA garage door and gate operators without requiring a handheld remote control.
Designed for outdoor access applications, the KPX-7V2 allows authorised users to operate a garage door, sliding gate, swing gate or other compatible automation system by entering a personal PIN directly into the keypad.
Featuring ATA’s secure TrioCode128 wireless technology, illuminated keys, multiple user PINs and up to 8 programmable channels, the KPX-7V2 is a versatile access-control solution for residential and compatible commercial installations.
🔢 Keyless PIN Access
The KPX-7V2 allows a compatible ATA door or gate operator to be activated using a PIN rather than a conventional remote transmitter.
This is particularly useful for providing access to:
- Family members
- Children returning home
- Tradespeople
- Property managers
- Employees
- Regular visitors
- Service personnel
Users can simply enter their authorised PIN and select the required channel to operate the programmed door or gate.
🔐 TrioCode128 Security
The KPX-7V2 uses ATA’s TrioCode128 wireless coding technology.
TrioCode128 uses secure rolling-code technology designed to provide reliable communication between the keypad and compatible ATA receivers.
Rather than repeatedly transmitting a fixed radio code, the system uses changing encrypted codes to provide improved protection against unauthorised code copying.
📡 Completely Wireless Installation
The KPX-7V2 communicates wirelessly with the compatible ATA opener or receiver.
This means no control wiring is required between the keypad and the garage door or gate operator.
The keypad is battery powered, making installation considerably easier than a conventional hardwired access keypad.
This can be particularly useful for:
- Existing garage doors
- Existing automatic gates
- Masonry walls
- Gate posts
- Retrofit installations
- Locations where running additional control cable is difficult
🌦️ Weatherproof Construction
ATA describes the KPX-7V2 as a weatherproof access device designed for outdoor use.
Its tough enclosure allows the keypad to be installed at convenient access points such as:
- Garage entrances
- Driveway gates
- Pedestrian access areas
- Gate posts
- External walls
- Commercial access points
The keypad should still be installed according to ATA’s instructions and positioned where the door or gate can be clearly observed during operation.
💡 Illuminated Keypad
The KPX-7V2 features built-in keypad illumination for use at night or in dark areas.
Pressing a button illuminates the keypad, making the numbers easier to identify in low-light conditions.
This is particularly useful for driveway gates and external garage entrances where ambient lighting may be limited.
👥 Multiple User PINs
The KPX-7V2 can store multiple user PINs, allowing different authorised users to have their own access code.
The keypad provides memory for up to 20 PINs.
This can be useful where access is required by several people without distributing additional handheld remote controls.
Applications can include:
- Family homes
- Shared residential properties
- Workshops
- Commercial premises
- Storage facilities
- Staff entrances
🔢 4 to 8 Digit PIN Codes
User PINs can be configured between 4 and 8 digits.
This allows the installer or property owner to select an appropriate balance between convenience and security.
Different authorised users can be allocated their own PIN rather than requiring everyone to share a single access code.
🎛️ Up to 8 Programmable Channels
The KPX-7V2 provides 8 programmable channels.
Each channel can be assigned to a different compatible receiver or function.
For example:
- Channel 1 – Garage Door
- Channel 2 – Sliding Gate
- Channel 3 – Second Garage Door
- Channel 4 – Swing Gate
- Channel 5 – External Receiver
This makes the KPX-7V2 particularly useful for properties with multiple automated access points.
🏠 Control Multiple Doors & Gates
Because the keypad provides multiple channels, one KPX-7V2 can potentially be programmed to operate several compatible ATA automation systems.
A property with an automatic driveway gate and garage door may therefore be able to use the same keypad for both access points.
The required channel is selected after entering the authorised PIN.
Each operator or receiver must first be programmed to recognise the corresponding keypad channel.
⏳ Temporary PIN Function
The KPX-7V2 supports temporary PIN functionality.
This provides a useful way of allowing temporary access without giving another person the primary user PIN.
Temporary access can be useful for:
- Tradespeople
- Contractors
- Visitors
- Service technicians
- Deliveries
- Short-term property access
The keypad should be programmed according to ATA’s instructions when using temporary access functions.
🚨 Wrong PIN Alarm
The KPX-7V2 includes protection against repeated incorrect PIN attempts.
If an incorrect PIN is entered, the keypad provides an audible indication.
After four consecutive incorrect PIN entries, the keypad triggers an alarm using flashing lights and audible beeps.
The wrong-PIN timeout helps discourage repeated attempts to guess an authorised access code.
🔔 Doorbell Function
The KPX-7V2 also incorporates a dedicated doorbell function.
This provides additional flexibility when the keypad is installed near a property entrance or gate.
The doorbell function requires appropriate compatible equipment or configuration depending on the installation.
🚪 Garage Door Applications
The KPX-7V2 is compatible with a wide range of ATA garage door operators using compatible TrioCode technology.
Applications can include:
- Sectional garage doors
- Residential roller doors
- Commercial roller doors
- Compatible tilt door operators
The exact operator model should be checked before ordering.
🚧 Automatic Gate Applications
The keypad can also be used with compatible ATA gate automation equipment.
This makes it particularly useful as a keyless entry device for automatic driveway gates.
Compatible applications can include:
- NeoSlider sliding gate operators
- EasySlider systems
- DCB-05 control systems
- Compatible swing gate systems
- Compatible external ATA receivers
🔄 Retrofit Applications
The KPX-7V2 is not limited to installations where the original operator has an integrated compatible receiver.
When paired with an appropriate ATA external TrioCode receiver, the keypad can also be incorporated into other compatible automation systems.
This can make the KPX-7V2 useful when adding wireless PIN access to an existing:
- Garage door
- Sliding gate
- Swing gate
- Roller shutter
- Commercial door
- Access-control system
The appropriate ATA receiver must be selected according to the installation.
🔋 9V Battery Powered
The KPX-7V2 operates from a standard 9V battery.
Battery-powered operation eliminates the need to run a separate power cable to the keypad.
When keypad performance begins to deteriorate or battery condition becomes low, the battery can be replaced without altering the programmed operator receiver.
🧱 Simple Wall-Mounted Installation
The keypad is designed to mount to a suitable wall, post or other secure surface near the access point.
ATA recommends installing the keypad:
- Where the moving door or gate can be clearly seen
- Away from the moving door or gate
- Out of reach of children
- At least 1.5 metres above ground level
The user should always be able to observe the door or gate while operating it from the keypad.
