2m Beam Skirt Kit – B614/B680H

Some FAAC barrier gate operators feature beams that are so high that smaller vehicles are able to pass under them. Prevent unwanted access through checkpoints with the skirted boom kit.

The skirts are made from a series of interlocking jointed metal pieces that form a framework which can be attached to the bottom of a metal or wood beam arm. When the beam raises, the pieces fold against the arm to allow traffic to pass through. The skirts are lightweight and do not tax the gate motor more than the operator would normally handle.

This kit includes skirts and the hardware necessary to attach the beam to the skirt.

Note: These skirts may also be used to retrofit older beams, but could require different compression springs for the older model barrier operator. Please contact us for additional information. For proper balancing of the arm, the spring and pump size must be correct.

The FAAC 2m Beam Skirt Kit is a genuine barrier accessory designed to increase the visibility of compatible FAAC automatic barrier boom arms.

Installed beneath the barrier beam, the hanging skirt creates a larger and more visible physical barrier, making the closed boom easier for approaching vehicles and pedestrians to identify.

The appropriate skirt configuration can be selected according to the barrier boom length and installation requirements.

⚙️ B614 Balancing Requirements

Adding a skirt increases the weight carried by the barrier boom and therefore changes the required balancing configuration.

For the B614, FAAC provides dedicated balancing ranges for beams fitted with:

  • Skirt only
  • Lights and skirt
  • Skirt and end foot
  • Lights, skirt and end foot

Depending on the completed boom length and accessories fitted, either one or two B614 balancing springs may be required.

The applicable components are:

  • 721209 – B614 Balancing Spring
  • 490186 – Double Spring Fitting where two springs are required

🔧 B614 & B680H Compatibility

FAAC lists the 428441 as a common accessory for both the B614 and B680H automatic barrier systems.

For the B680H, FAAC permits skirts on appropriate S and L beam configurations, although the allowable accessories depend on the effective passage width and beam configuration.

When installing a skirt on a B614, the additional weight must be taken into account when selecting and adjusting the balancing spring configuration.

For B680H installations, skirt compatibility depends on the beam type and effective passage width. FAAC does not permit skirt kits on its pivoting round beam system.
