Description

The Rosslare AC-Q41HB Commercial Backlit Keypad is a heavy-duty anti-vandal standalone access controller designed for automatic gates, doors and commercial access-control applications.

Featuring a rugged metal housing, large illuminated metal keys and capacity for up to 500 PIN users, the AC-Q41HB provides a complete standalone keypad access solution without requiring a separate access-control panel or computer.

Its highly visible blue backlit keypad makes the unit easy to operate in both daylight and low-light environments, while the durable construction makes it particularly suitable for high-traffic commercial, industrial and residential access points.

🔢 Standalone PIN Access Control

The AC-Q41HB combines the keypad and access controller into a single unit.

Users simply enter their programmed PIN code to activate the connected gate, door lock or other access-control equipment.

Because the controller is built into the keypad, a separate access-control controller is not required for basic standalone operation.

This makes it ideal for:

  • Automatic gates
  • Pedestrian gates
  • Commercial entrances
  • Electric door strikes
  • Magnetic locks
  • Apartment access
  • Workshops
  • Warehouses
  • Industrial premises
  • Staff entrances
  • Residential driveway gates

👥 Up to 500 PIN Users

The AC-Q41HB supports up to:

  • 500 users

This provides ample capacity for residential, commercial and industrial access-control applications.

Individual PIN credentials can be allocated to authorised users, allowing access without requiring physical keys or remote controls.

🔢 4 to 8 Digit PIN Codes

The keypad supports programmable PIN codes between:

  • 4 digits
  • 8 digits

Longer PIN combinations can be used where a higher number of possible code combinations is desirable.

Programming is carried out locally through the keypad.

🔵 Blue Backlit Metal Keypad

The AC-Q41HB features a highly visible blue-backlit keypad.

The illuminated keys make the keypad considerably easier to locate and operate:

  • At night
  • In underground parking areas
  • In dimly lit entrances
  • Under covered access areas
  • During poor weather conditions

The keypad uses large individual metal keys designed for frequent operation.

🔨 Anti-Vandal Metal Construction

The AC-Q41HB is designed for demanding access-control environments.

Its rugged metal enclosure and metal keypad provide significantly greater physical durability than a conventional plastic access keypad.

This makes the unit particularly suitable for locations exposed to frequent public or commercial use.

Typical applications include:

  • Commercial gates
  • Apartment entrances
  • Industrial facilities
  • Warehouses
  • Shared driveways
  • Secure compounds
  • Staff access points
  • Public-facing entrances

🌦️ Suitable for Outdoor Installation

The AC-Q41HB is designed for indoor and outdoor access-control applications.

The enclosure is rated:

  • IP54

This provides protection against dust ingress and water spray when the keypad is correctly installed.

The installation position should still be selected appropriately for the IP54 environmental rating.

❄️ Built-In Keypad Heater

The AC-Q41HB incorporates an automatic internal heater.

The heater is designed to assist operation in very cold environments and prevent the keypad keys from freezing.

Rosslare specifies an operating temperature range of:

  • -20°C to +60°C

The heater operates automatically according to environmental conditions.

🚧 Ideal for Automatic Gates

The AC-Q41HB can be used as a standalone PIN access device for compatible automatic gate controllers.

When an authorised PIN is entered, the keypad’s relay output can provide the required dry-contact command to the gate controller.

This makes it suitable for compatible:

  • Sliding gate operators
  • Swing gate operators
  • Boom gates
  • Pedestrian gates
  • Commercial gate automation

The keypad does not directly power the gate motor. It provides a control signal to the appropriate input on the gate controller.

🚪 Electric Lock Control

The AC-Q41HB incorporates a dedicated lock strike relay.

The relay provides:

  • Normally Open contact
  • Normally Closed contact
  • 2A rating

This allows the keypad to control compatible locking equipment including suitable:

  • Electric strikes
  • Magnetic locks
  • Electric gate locks
  • Access-control interfaces

Both fail-safe and fail-secure configurations can be accommodated where compatible with the connected equipment.

🔄 Request-to-Exit Input

A dedicated Request-to-Exit input is provided.

This allows a compatible push button or other dry-contact device to be installed on the secure side of the entrance.

Activating the Request-to-Exit input can release the connected door or provide the appropriate access command without requiring a PIN to be entered.

⚙️ Auxiliary Input & Output

In addition to the primary lock relay, the AC-Q41HB provides an auxiliary relay and programmable auxiliary input.

The auxiliary system provides multiple programmable operating modes, allowing the controller to be configured for additional access-control functions.

Applications can include compatible:

  • Door monitoring
  • Alarm functions
  • Shunt functions
  • Secure functions
  • Auxiliary control equipment

The appropriate configuration depends on the requirements of the installation.

🔔 Optional Door Bell Function

The * key can be configured for doorbell operation when the keypad is used with the compatible Rosslare BL-D40 accessory.

The BL-D40 can provide additional:

  • Bell
  • Chime
  • Siren
  • Strobe functions

The BL-D40 is an optional accessory and is not included with the keypad.

🚨 Optical Tamper Detection

The AC-Q41HB incorporates optical back tamper detection.

The tamper system can detect interference with or removal of the keypad from its installed position.

This provides an additional security feature for installations where unauthorised physical access to the controller is a concern.

🔒 Three Security Modes

The AC-Q41HB provides three selectable operating security modes:

  • Normal
  • Bypass
  • Secure

These modes allow the access-control behaviour of the keypad to be adjusted according to the requirements of the site.

👤 Three User Levels

The controller also provides three user levels:

  • Normal
  • Secure
  • Master

These levels allow different access permissions and operating behaviour to be configured within the standalone controller.

🚫 Wrong-Code Lockout

The AC-Q41HB includes protection against repeated incorrect PIN attempts.

After multiple incorrect entries, the keypad can initiate a timed lockout.

This helps discourage repeated attempts to gain access by guessing PIN combinations.

💾 Non-Volatile Memory

User information and controller settings are stored in non-volatile memory.

This protects stored information including:

  • User database
  • Operating modes
  • Programming parameters

The programmed user information is retained if power to the keypad is interrupted.

💡 Visual & Audible Indicators

The AC-Q41HB provides clear feedback during programming and normal operation.

The unit incorporates:

  • 2 × tri-colour LED indicators
  • Integral sounder

These indicators provide visual and audible feedback when entering codes, programming users and operating the controller.

🔌 Flexible AC or DC Power Supply

The AC-Q41HB supports a wide range of low-voltage power supplies.

Compatible supply voltage:

  • 12–24V DC regulated
  • 16–24V AC

This provides flexibility when integrating the keypad with existing gate automation and access-control power systems.

The power supply is not included unless specifically stated.

🔧 Removable Terminal Blocks

The AC-Q41HB uses removable terminal blocks for electrical connections.

This simplifies installation and servicing by allowing the terminal connections to be accessed without permanently attaching wiring directly to the controller electronics.

🏢 Commercial Access Applications

The combination of a rugged metal enclosure, 500-user capacity and standalone operation makes the AC-Q41HB particularly suitable for commercial applications.

Typical installations include:

  • Factory entrances
  • Warehouses
  • Commercial car parks
  • Staff gates
  • Apartment complexes
  • Storage facilities
  • Workshops
  • Office entrances
  • Shared automatic gates

🏠 Residential Gate Applications

The AC-Q41HB can also be used for premium residential gate automation.

A keypad provides convenient entry for:

  • Family members
  • Tradespeople
  • Gardeners
  • Cleaners
  • Regular visitors
  • Property maintenance personnel

This can reduce the need to issue additional gate remotes to every authorised user.

🚫 PIN Only – No Proximity Reader

The AC-Q41HB is a PIN-code keypad controller.

It does not contain an integrated proximity card or tag reader.

Access is provided using programmed PIN codes entered through the keypad.

For installations requiring card, tag or proximity credentials, a different compatible Rosslare model should be selected.
