Description
The ATA DAVE® OmniVolt® Low Voltage Power Cartridge – Part No. 101640 is the genuine removable power module designed to supply the ATA DAVE® Commercial Door Operator from a standard 230–240V AC single-phase power supply in Australian and New Zealand applications.
DAVE’s innovative OmniVolt® system separates the operator from the mains power configuration. Rather than requiring a different commercial operator for different site voltages, the appropriate OmniVolt® cartridge is selected and installed into the same DAVE operator platform.
For typical Australian installations with a standard 240V single-phase supply, the 101640 Low Voltage Power Cartridge is the appropriate OmniVolt® power module.
⚡ 230–240V Single-Phase Power
The Australian 101640 OmniVolt® Low Voltage Power Cartridge is designed for a 230–240V AC, 50/60Hz single-phase supply.
This makes it suitable for DAVE installations where conventional Australian single-phase mains power is available.
The cartridge is rated at:
- 230–240V AC
- Single Phase
- 50/60Hz
- 1000W input power
- 10A input voltage fuse
- Maximum current consumption of 5A
🔌 Pre-Wired Power Lead & Plug
The Low Voltage OmniVolt® cartridge is supplied pre-wired with a 1.3m power cable and AC plug, allowing it to be connected to a suitable nearby power outlet.
This can significantly simplify installation where a suitable 230–240V outlet has already been provided near the commercial door operator.
The pre-wired configuration provides:
- Faster connection
- Reduced site wiring
- Neater installation
- Standard AC plug connection
- Convenient commissioning
- Purpose-designed integration with DAVE
🔄 Removable OmniVolt® Cartridge Design
One of the key features of the DAVE commercial operator is that the mains power electronics are contained within a removable OmniVolt® cartridge.
The cartridge slides directly into the DAVE operator after the removable handle is taken off.
This modular design means the same core DAVE operator can be configured according to the electrical supply available at the installation.
For Australian applications, the available power options include:
- 101640 – OmniVolt® Low Voltage Power Cartridge
- 101642 – OmniVolt® High Voltage Power Cartridge
🇦🇺 Designed for Standard Australian 240V Applications
For most Australian commercial installations where a standard 230–240V single-phase supply is available, the 101640 provides the required interface between mains power and the DAVE operator.
This makes it suitable for applications such as:
- Commercial sectional doors
- Industrial sectional doors
- Roller shutters
- Commercial roller doors
- Warehouse doors
- Factory doors
- Workshops
- Loading areas
- Commercial premises
The suitability of the DAVE operator itself must still be determined according to the particular door and application.
🔧 Simple Cartridge Installation
The OmniVolt® cartridge has been designed to integrate directly into the DAVE operator.
The DAVE handle is removed, the appropriate power cartridge is inserted into the operator and the cartridge locks into position. ATA specifically promotes this modular approach as part of DAVE’s simplified installation system.
This means installers can carry the same DAVE operator and select the appropriate power cartridge according to the electrical supply available on site.
🌎 One Operator – Multiple Power Options
The OmniVolt® system is central to DAVE’s flexible commercial operator platform.
Instead of manufacturing completely different operator models for different mains power supplies, DAVE accepts interchangeable power cartridges.
Automatic Technology describes the platform as supporting single and three-phase power across a wide voltage range through its swappable OmniVolt® system.
For the Australian DAVE system, the primary choices are:
Low Voltage – 101640
- 230–240V AC
- Single Phase
- 50/60Hz
High Voltage – 101642
- 400–480V AC
- High-voltage commercial applications
- Direct-wired installation
The correct cartridge is selected according to the available site supply.
🔌 Plug-In or Hard-Wired Installation
The 101640 Low Voltage Power Cartridge is supplied with a power cable and plug for convenient connection to a suitable power outlet.
Where a suitable outlet is not available within reach, ATA states that the Low Voltage Cartridge may also be wired directly into mains power.
Any modification to the cartridge’s standard power connection or permanent connection to mains electricity must be carried out in accordance with applicable electrical regulations.
Where required, this work must be completed by a licensed electrician or electrical contractor.
🧠 Powering the DAVE® Commercial Operator
The OmniVolt® cartridge provides the electrical power required by DAVE’s advanced commercial operator platform.
Once installed, the cartridge powers a system incorporating technologies such as:
- Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor
- SureTrack™ absolute positioning
- ProfileIQ® adaptive door technology
- Wireless-first controls
- Electronic speed control
- Soft start and soft stop
- Commercial safety inputs
- Wireless and wired accessories
The power cartridge is therefore an essential component of a complete DAVE installation.
📦 Sold Separately from DAVE
The OmniVolt® Power Cartridge is sold separately from the DAVE Commercial Door Operator.
ATA’s DAVE documentation specifically identifies the power cartridge as a separately supplied component, allowing the appropriate power module to be selected for the installation.
For an Australian 230–240V single-phase installation, the required cartridge is:
ATA OmniVolt® Low Voltage Power Cartridge – Part No. 101640
🔄 Easy Power Configuration
The modular cartridge approach provides considerable flexibility for installers, distributors and commercial door specialists.
Rather than stocking different DAVE operators according to mains voltage, the same operator platform can be paired with the appropriate OmniVolt® cartridge.
This provides advantages including:
- Simplified operator selection
- Reduced number of operator variants
- Easier stock management
- Flexible site configuration
- Replaceable power module
- Single DAVE operator platform
- Simplified commercial installations
🔵 Power & Status Indicators
The OmniVolt® cartridge incorporates dedicated indicator LEDs to assist with identifying its operating state.
ATA’s technical documentation identifies:
- Green Power LED
- Blue Status LED
These indicators are also important when disconnecting or replacing a cartridge.
🔄 Swappable Power Cartridge
The OmniVolt® cartridge is designed to be removable, allowing the DAVE operator’s power configuration to be changed or the cartridge to be replaced if required.
However, the cartridge must never be removed while energised.
ATA specifies that electrical power must first be switched off and both indicator LEDs must be completely extinguished before removing an installed OmniVolt® cartridge.
After mains power is disconnected, the blue status LED may remain illuminated for several minutes while stored electrical energy dissipates.
🌡️ Commercial Operating Temperature Range
The Australian Low Voltage OmniVolt® Power Cartridge is specified for operation across a broad commercial temperature range.
ATA specifies an operating range of:
-20°C to +65°C
This supports use across a wide range of commercial and industrial environments when the complete operator is installed according to manufacturer requirements.
