The ATA Smart Phone Control Kit – Part No. 14880 is a genuine Automatic Technology smart connectivity package designed to add smartphone control and remote monitoring to compatible ATA garage door and gate operators.
The kit combines the ATA Network Smart Hub with an NTR-1V1 Network Transceiver, power supply and installation hardware, providing the primary components required to connect one compatible operator to the ATA smartphone control platform. ATA documentation identifies the Smart Hub as Order No. 14880 and the included NTR-1V1 transceiver kit as Order No. 14818.
Once installed and configured, users can remotely control and monitor their compatible garage door or gate through the Automatic Technology smartphone system.

The ATA Smart Phone Control Kit allows a compatible garage door or gate operator to be controlled through a smartphone.

🌐 ATA Network Smart Hub
The Network Smart Hub provides the central network connection for the ATA Smart Phone Control system.
The Smart Hub remains inside the property and communicates with the NTR-1V1 Network Transceiver installed at the compatible garage door or gate operator.
ATA specifies that the Smart Hub must remain connected to power at all times after setup.
📡 NTR-1V1 Network Transceiver Included
The 14880 kit includes an NTR-1V1 Network Transceiver for connection to one compatible operator.
The transceiver provides communication between the garage door or gate operator and the Network Smart Hub, allowing operating commands and supported status information to be exchanged.

🚪 Controls One Door or Gate
The ATA Smart Phone Control Kit – 14880 is supplied with one NTR-1V1 Network Transceiver and is therefore configured to connect one compatible garage door or gate operator.
If you have an additional compatible garage door or gate that you would also like to control through the ATA smartphone system, an additional compatible network transceiver can be purchased separately.
The same Smart Hub can be used as part of a multi-opener installation with additional compatible transceivers.

🌎 Control & Monitor While Away
Smartphone connectivity allows you to interact with your compatible garage door or gate even when you are away from the property.
This can be useful for:
- Checking whether the garage door has been left open
- Opening the door when you do not have a remote
- Providing access to an authorised person
- Monitoring garage door or gate activity
- Checking the status of your door or gate
- Managing access while away from home
The ATA system can also provide alerts relating to door status and obstruction conditions and maintain an activity log showing operation history.

🔄 Existing Remotes Continue to Operate

📶 Wi-Fi & Internet Connection Required
A suitable Wi-Fi and internet connection is required at the premises where the Smart Hub is installed.
The Smart Hub must also remain connected to power for remote smartphone functionality to remain available.
If the internet connection becomes unavailable, remote smartphone functionality may be temporarily unavailable while conventional local controls can continue to operate the compatible opener.
🛡️ Safety Beams for Smart-Controlled Garage Doors
Smartphone control allows a garage door to be operated remotely when the user may not have direct line-of-sight of the door.
This makes appropriate obstruction detection particularly important.
Automatic Technology’s installation documentation specifically warns that a connected door or gate can operate when it is outside the user’s line-of-sight and may therefore operate unexpectedly.
⚠️ Safety Beams Required for Smart Control
Australian requirements introduced from 1 December 2020 require safety beams when a new smart opener or Smart Hub is installed. ATA supports this requirement because remote smart operation may occur without direct line-of-sight of the garage door.
A compatible safety beam system should therefore be installed and correctly commissioned as part of a smart-controlled garage door installation.
🔎 Check Your Opener Before Ordering
Not every version of an ATA opener is necessarily compatible simply because the model name appears in the compatibility list.
Published compatibility information notes that supported openers generally need to be later network-compatible versions, with some suppliers specifying units manufactured after January 2016.
